Trust & Estates Planning

People ask, why do I need a trust instead of a Will?

Estate Planning for All Families

You have two debts you pay, one is paid throughout your life, taxes, and the other is paid at the end of your life, death. Both are hard and due, but you can make the process easy for your families with a Will or Living Trust. Estate planning is about protecting the ones you love and your assets. It is not just for the wealthy; it’s for everyone that owns property and anything of value. Without legal planning in place, your property will go into probate, which can take as long as 12-16 months to clear before anyone can receive any money. Your family members will receive less than what your property is worth due to probate fees and estate taxes. Having an estate plan ensures your hard-earned money is immediately and privately available to your chosen family.

Many people often think that having an estate plan isn't necessary until much later in life. The trust is that a comprehensive estate plan is the only way to protect what matters the most and it ensures that your family will not bear the responsibility of making hard and important decisions in your absence.

 Protecting Your Most Valuable Gift

Your children, have you considered who will take care of them if something happens to you? Who will be taking care of them for the short-term due to injury or the long-term in case of your death? The authorities will be forced to call Child Protective Services until they figure out what to do legally! Allow us to add a protection plan to include your under age children in your estate planning to prevent them from being placed in foster care until the court finds a more legally suitable home. Avoid adding more trauma to your children and have them placed immediately in a loving home right away with family.

Other Considerations

Consider leaving specific directions to your loved ones about what’s important to you. Intellectual, spiritual, and human assets that are part of the legacy you leave behind may get lost without specific direction. Ensure that your values and what’s important are passed on, and that future generations can benefit from your stories, insights, and experiences. This is where real wealth is made, and it’s invaluable to families.
